Here we go. I’m on the plane, flying solo, to my awaited European adventure.
I feel excitement, along with agonizing stress. I’m nervous.
Personal doubts are screaming in my mind, “what makes you think that you, the ever-cautious, timid, self-conscious, pretty faced girl has the courage to embark on such a brave adventure?! Maybe I’m not ready…” And THAT, is precisely why I am taking a chance and going on this trip. To grow.
There’s this quote I read once that has always stuck with me, “The best way to gain confidence is to do something you’ve never done before.” I have no idea who said it, but I wholeheartedly believe in it. So, here I am, embracing the doubting fear; ready to experience something new.
I have a feeling this adventure will be a story of self discovery, finding confidence through self-compassion. For years now, I’ve had this strange burning desire to learn more what it means to be “confident”, and what does this idea means to others around the world? I hope I can start to truly define this term, as well as, better understand how some people generate more than others.
Let’s find out…together.
